I Am Thoroughly Disgusted with Myself

So you know how people always ask you what your favorite food is?  Or maybe they ask you what "Death Row" meal would be?  My answer is always something like...this:

"Favorite food? Do carbs count?"
"Death row meal? You mean like the last meal I will EVER eat?  Does an entire buffet count?  How do you possible expect me to choose just one thing to eat that is supposed to be the last loving taste of earth on my lips right before lethal injection or the electric chair?  This question alone is cruel and unusual punishment!  SHIT!  Now I am all worked up...and hungry...."

But last night, while in bed and thinking about the food that I would most like to eat for my birthday (yes, my motto right now is that I can eat carbs when I am 28) is HARDEE'S BREAKFAST.  I plan to eat a Sausage, Egg, & Cheese Biscuit (GOD, those biscuits are incredible...buttery and salty and crisp on the top but flakey in the middle...)
and an large Hash Brown (those cute little rounds of fried potato goodness make my heart MELT....and arteries clog...but more heartmelting!).
If I still have room, I totally plan to order a side of biscuits and gravy....(mmm that gravy- so creamy and peppery and savory).

We don't have Hardee's in Ohio so the only way that I can possible indulge in this amazing death row/28th birthday meal will be a road trip to the South.  The good news is that I will be attending a kickass wedding in Nashville that weekend so it would seem that Birthday Wishes DO come true!

Sidenote: Question- Why don't northern states have Hardee's?  Answer- because everything besides their breakfast is a disgusting mess, at least in my hometown.  BUT as it turns out, Hardee's just celebrated its 50th birthday this week. So Happy Birthday, you delicious slut!  (and yes, I did look up their facebook page, fan them, and spin their wheel of prizes...and yes I DID win a free cinnamon biscuit with the purchase of a breakfast combo, and YES I WILL redeem that someday)

So anyway, you might be a HauteMess if....
You lay awake on a Thursday night dreaming of HARDEES!

  5. I just made and ate beignets as football food. Not typical food for an Ohio State game, but carbs were needed.
