I will spare you all from an April Fool's Day post. Last year I pretended to be pregnant...which wasn't really that fun since only 3 people read my blog and none of them really knew me.
Instead, I shall share a fun little flashback with you! ENJOY!
Last year, I created an eBay account for the sole reason of purchasing Electronic Dream Phone and Mall Madness. We spent "Ladies Christmas" 2009 huddled around a battery operated pink Zack Morris phone - it was glorious.
Why did I get an itch to purchase 20 year old electronic board games? YouTube made me do it. I dare you to watch this commercial and NOT get an itch to answer your phone by saying, "Hi Hunk!" whenever someone calls you this weekend!
After singing, "Who, who, who has a crush on you?" to myself approximately 83 times, I happened upon this little gem of 80s/90s nostalgia.... The Barbie Corvette Power Wheel!!
I remember wanting one of these more than a fat kid wants cake, but Power Wheels were for rich families. While I didn't grow up in poverty - we were NOT one of those families. If it wasn't sold at Goodwill or a Flea Market, I didn't get it. This is no sob story though; I found a rad red corvette Barbie Car and a 4 story cardboard Barbie mansion (with an elevator) at the flea market in almost new condition. The masking tape price tags left some residue, but other than that they were pristine! However, the Flea Market NEVER had a Power Wheel. Especially not one as beautiful as the one below. (the fact that someone video taped this from an old VHS only makes it more adorable!)
Not only did those bitches have human size BARBIE CARS (jealous!) they also had perfect hair and CELL PHONES! Did you see them chatting on the phone while riding around their yards? I didn't get my first cell phone until I was 18! Sheesh! Rich bitches had it all in those days.
